COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sustainable Community Development curriculum offers a diverse and interdisciplinary range of courses that provide students with the tools to critically understand and address complex community issues through the lenses of politics, law, sociology, communication, and environmental studies. Core political science courses such as POSC 1000U, POSC 1200U, and POSC 2200U introduce foundational concepts in governance, democracy, and policy. Students explore applied areas including urban and rural development (POSC 3203U, POSC 3201U), housing policy (POSC 3603U), and sustainability (POSC 3300U, POSC 3303U). Courses in law and criminology such as LGLS 1000U, CRMN 1000U, and LGLS 4040U focus on justice, governance, and the legal dimensions of social change. Interdisciplinary electives such as SSCI 1910U, COMM 1100U, and COMM 3350U strengthen communication, research, and analytical skills while addressing global media, environmental communication, and tech impacts. Specialized topics like Indigenous rights (POSC 4310U, LGLS 3310U), eco-justice (POSC 3301U), and global development (POSC 3100U) prepare students for real-world challenges.
