COURSE CURRICULUM

The Infrastructure and Computing Technology Diploma program is designed to equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to excel in modern communications and IT infrastructure. In the first year, students develop foundational competencies through courses in computer components and peripherals, computer programming, voice and data communications infrastructure, networks and telecommunications, technical communication, and mathematics tailored to network and telecom applications. Semester two builds on these skills with courses in network applications of analog and digital systems, local area network management, scripting for system administration, project management, routing and switching, and advanced technical communication, supplemented by an extended topics course in internetworking. In the second year, students advance to specialized areas including virtualization for enterprise system administration, cybersecurity analysis, client and server security, Linux server management, internetwork security, enterprise telecommunications, the Internet of Things, and scaling infrastructure and services, culminating in a capstone network project. The program integrates hands-on co-op work terms across three four-month periods, allowing students to apply theory in real-world environments, gain industry experience, and develop professional networks. Graduates emerge with expertise in designing, managing, and securing network and telecommunications systems, prepared for roles such as network support specialists, administrators, security analysts, and consultants, and are well-positioned to pursue professional certifications or continue their education in related technology fields.
