COURSE CURRICULUM

Business Administration Diploma with an Accounting specialization, students must select a focused set of accounting and business courses that build advanced financial knowledge and practical skills. As part of the specialization requirements, students are required to complete BUAD 121 Financial Accounting II and BUAD 263 Intermediate Accounting I, which provide deeper understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and business transactions. In addition, students must complete two additional courses from a list of advanced accounting and business-related subjects to further strengthen their expertise. These options include BUAD 208 Canadian Income Tax I, BUAD 236 Accounting Computer Applications, BUAD 273 Intermediate Accounting II, BUAD 222 Selected Topics: Advanced Accounting, BUAD 283 Management Information Systems, BUAD 296 Long-term Capital Management, BUAD 365 Cost Accounting, and BUAD 369 Canadian Income Tax II. This flexible structure allows students to tailor their learning based on their career interests in areas such as taxation, cost analysis, financial systems, or advanced accounting practices. The specialization is designed to develop strong analytical, numerical, and decision-making skills, preparing students for roles in accounting firms, corporate finance departments, auditing, taxation services, and business management.
