COURSE CURRICULUM

The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in accounting and related business disciplines over four semesters and a summer session, preparing students for the Chartered Professional Accountants Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). The program begins with a summer session covering Financial Accounting I and II, establishing the core principles of financial reporting and accounting practices. In Semester 1, students build on this foundation with courses in Canadian Business, Financial Management, Canadian Income Tax I, Business Law, and Intermediate Accounting I, introducing essential analytical, legal, and management concepts. Semester 2 continues with Intermediate Accounting II, Management Information Systems, Long-term Capital Management, Management Accounting, and Canadian Income Tax II, focusing on deeper accounting analysis, technology integration, and tax applications. Semester 3 emphasizes auditing, statistics, strategic management, and advanced financial accounting, preparing students for professional decision-making and ethical practices in accounting. The program concludes in Semester 4 with courses in Data Analytics in Accounting, Cost Accounting, Internal Control and Auditing, and Advanced Managerial Accounting, equipping students with advanced skills in financial analysis, managerial decision-making, and auditing processes. Through this sequential structure, the program integrates theory and applied learning, ensuring graduates develop the technical expertise and professional knowledge necessary to succeed in the accounting profession and pursue CPA certification.
