COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures) program is structured over two semesters. In Semester 1, students complete foundational courses including AMEC 101 (Orientation), AMEC 102 (Practical Aviation Mathematics), AMEC 103 (Aerodynamics and Aircraft Construction), AMEC 104 (Basic Electrical Theory), AMEC 105 (Canadian Aviation Regulations Level 1), AMEC 106 (Aircraft Systems Level 1), AMEC 121 (Machine Shop), AMEC 122 (Metal Aircraft Construction Lab 1), and AMEC 123 (Aircraft Composites Level 1). These courses provide a strong base in aviation principles, metal and composite materials, regulations, and practical skills. In Semester 2, students advance to more specialized topics with courses such as AMES 201 (Damage Inspection, Assessment and Repair), AMES 202 (Canadian Aviation Regulations Level 2), AMES 221 (Metal Planishing and Forming), AMES 222 (Special Airframe Process and Practices), AMES 223 (Aircraft Composites Level 2), AMES 224 (Aircraft Metal Construction Level 2), and AMES 225 (Damage Assessment and Repair Lab). This semester focuses heavily on inspection, repair techniques, advanced metalwork, and composite construction, preparing students for real-world aircraft maintenance challenges. Together, these courses blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience to meet Transport Canada’s standards for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licensing.
