COURSE CURRICULUM

Associate of Science Degree with a Physics and Mathematics Emphasis, students must complete a combination of foundational and advanced courses in mathematics and physics that develop strong analytical, quantitative, and scientific reasoning skills. The required core courses include MATH 122 Calculus II, PHYS 111 Calculus-Based Physics I, and PHYS 121 Calculus-Based Physics II, which provide essential knowledge in advanced calculus and physics principles such as mechanics, motion, energy, electricity, and magnetism. Students may substitute PHYS 111 with PHYS 112 Introductory Physics I and PHYS 121 with PHYS 122 Introductory Physics II, provided they achieve a minimum grade of 68 percent in those courses. In addition to the core requirements, students must complete six second-year mathematics and physics courses, including at least two mathematics courses, excluding MATH 257, and at least two physics courses, excluding PHYS 202. This curriculum is designed to strengthen problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and technical competence while preparing students for advanced university studies in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related scientific disciplines. Through theoretical learning and practical applications, students gain the skills needed to analyze complex systems, apply mathematical models, and understand scientific concepts in academic, research, and professional environments.
