COURSE CURRICULUM

The Surveying and Geospatial Engineering Technology program includes a comprehensive course lineup designed to build strong technical skills and industry knowledge over four terms. In Term 1, students start with foundational courses such as AutoCAD I, Effective Communications I, Technical Mathematics I, Survey Calculations I, Field Methods I, and Geographic Information Systems, setting the groundwork for surveying principles and technology. Term 2 deepens this knowledge with AutoCAD II, Effective Communications II, Statistics, Survey Calculations II, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, and Field Methods II, emphasizing practical applications and data analysis. Term 3 focuses on advanced topics like Technical Mathematics II and Calculus, Cadastral Studies, Field Methods III, Survey Calculations using MSCAD, Coordinate Systems and Data Processing, and Remote Sensing, preparing students for complex surveying challenges. In the final term, students apply their learning in projects and specialized courses including a Technical Report Project, Engineering Surveys, Field Methods IV, Data Analysis, and Plans of Survey. This progression ensures graduates are proficient in modern surveying tools and techniques, ready to excel in roles that require precision, technical expertise, and effective communication.
