COURSE CURRICULUM

The Radio program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop your skills in all aspects of radio broadcasting. In Term 1, you’ll build a strong foundation with courses such as Media Writing Standards, Marketing Foundations, Journalism and Storytelling Fundamentals, Professional Communications in Media, Introduction to Online Media, and Media Production Fundamentals. These courses introduce you to essential concepts in media writing, marketing, storytelling, communication, and technical production skills. Term 2 focuses on Radio Promotions, News and Storytelling, Audio Production, On-Air Performance and Operations, and Advertising with Radio, allowing you to develop practical skills in creating content, managing promotions, performing on-air, and understanding advertising strategies. Term 3 advances your expertise with Applied Promotions, Applied Radio Advertising, Advanced On-Air Performance and Operations, Advanced News and Storytelling, and Applied Audio Production, where you refine your abilities to deliver engaging content and manage complex production tasks. In Term 4, Career Strategies prepares you for entering the industry, and the Industry Work Placement offers valuable real-world experience in professional settings. Throughout the program, you will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment, preparing you for roles such as producer, announcer, music programr, and content creator in the dynamic field of radio broadcasting.
