COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interior Design Technology program curriculum is structured to provide students with a comprehensive blend of technical, creative, and practical skills needed to succeed in the design and construction industries. In Term 1, students are introduced to foundational concepts through courses such as Introduction to Construction Documents (CDOC1100), Introduction to AutoCAD (COMP1130), Revit I (COMP1230), and Introduction to Design and Presentation for Interiors (DSGN1120), supported by Technical Communications I (ENGL1150) and Technical Mathematics (MATH1150). Term 2 builds on these foundations with more advanced courses, including Interior Construction Documents I (CDOC1200), 3D Design and Presentation Modelling (COMP1250), Revit II (COMP2330), and Planning Interior Spaces (DSGN1220), alongside Fundamentals of Interior Products and Materials (INDT1410) and Professional Practice I (INDT1170). In Term 3, students deepen their design and documentation skills with courses such as Revit III (COMP2430), Shaping Interior Spaces (DSGN2220), Interior Building Systems (INDT1350), and Interior Construction Documents II (CDOC2300), while exploring interior design history in HIST1000 and expanding their visual communication abilities in COMP1245. The final term focuses on advanced technical and professional practice through courses like Interior Construction Documents III (CDOC2400), Interior Products and Materials II (INDT2410), Technical Communications II (ENGL1250), and a capstone Final Project (PROJ2500), preparing students for entry into the professional field.
