COURSE CURRICULUM

The Chemical Engineering Technology diploma program spans four terms, combining theory and hands-on learning to prepare students for careers in process industries. In Term 1, students study foundational subjects such as general, physical, and organic chemistry, chemical process technology, safety, fluid mechanics, technical communications, and mathematics. Term 2 covers oil and gas processing, advanced chemical process technology, lab work, instrumentation fundamentals, calculus, and power engineering theory. Term 3 advances to chemical process technology, applied research, pipelines, computer applications, materials selection, and further power engineering theory. In Term 4, students focus on process operations, an applied research project, industry practices, project management, economic evaluation, equipment design, and process control. Throughout the program, students gain practical skills using computer simulations, software, and laboratory work, learning to safely operate equipment like pumps, compressors, and distillation towers. This comprehensive curriculum equips graduates with the technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities essential for roles in chemical manufacturing, energy production, and environmental management.
