COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automotive Service Technology diploma program includes a comprehensive range of courses designed to build a strong foundation in vehicle systems and repair. In Term 1, students begin with core subjects such as Automotive Fundamentals, Automotive Electrical Fundamentals, Steering and Suspension, Brakes, and Effective Communications I, which provide essential technical and communication skills. Term 2 advances into engine fundamentals covering both lower and upper engine systems, starting and charging systems, drivetrain systems, and Petroleum Chemistry, offering in-depth knowledge of engine operations and fuel properties. The intersession provides practical Automotive Technology Work Experience to apply learned skills in real-world settings. Term 3 focuses on Vehicle Control Systems, Advanced Automotive Electrical Systems, Fuel Supply and Delivery, Ignition and Emission Control, alongside Effective Communications II, honing students’ expertise in complex automotive systems and communication. Finally, Term 4 covers Automotive HVAC, Automatic Transmission Operation and Diagnosis, Diesel and Alternate Power Systems, and Leadership and Management, equipping students with specialized technical knowledge and leadership skills vital for career advancement. Together, these courses ensure graduates are well-prepared to diagnose, maintain, and repair modern vehicles while developing essential professional competencies for success in the automotive service industry.
