COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced Welding Technology diploma program includes a comprehensive range of courses designed to build technical expertise, practical skills, and leadership capabilities. In Term 1, students study Technical Math (MATH1350), Workplace Safety & Apprenticeship Systems (WELD1000), Welding Tools & Processes (WELD1010), Electrical, Metallurgical, and Drawing Theory (WELD1060), and Wire Feed Application (WELD1100). Term 2 focuses on communication skills with Effective Communications I (ENGL1154), and advanced welding processes including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (WELD1200), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (WELD1240), and Pattern Development and Estimating (WELD1300). In Term 3, students deepen their technical knowledge with Blueprint Interpretation (BLPR2130), Welding Science and Specifications (WELD2060), and specialized welding applications such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding for Groove and Pipe (WELD2100) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding for Groove and Pipe (WELD2140). The final term enhances leadership and industry readiness through Leadership and Management (LEAD2100), Welding Inspection (WELD2220), Applied Industry Certifications (WELD2400), Fabrication Techniques and Best Practices (WELD2430), and Advanced Capabilities and Emerging Technologies (WELD2500). This well-rounded curriculum prepares graduates for successful careers in welding, fabrication, and industrial construction, equipping them with the skills to meet industry demands and lead in their field.
