COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced Plumbing Technology diploma program includes a comprehensive course lineup designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in plumbing. In Term 1, students study Plumbing Calculations, Safety Codes and Standards, Plumber Tools, Equipment & Material Construction, Piping Fabrication, and Plumbing Drawing & Specifications, establishing a solid foundation. Term 2 focuses on practical installation skills for Single Family Dwellings, Single Family Dwelling Hydronic Heating Systems, Plumbing Heating Calculations & Science, Specialized Plumbing Piping Systems, and Plumbing Designs and Calculations, emphasizing both theory and application. Term 3 expands to Gas Appliances, covering Testing Equipment and Electrical Components, Venting and Air Supply, and Properties of Gas and Gas Systems, alongside Plumbing Installs for Multi-Family and Commercial Dwellings and advanced hydronic heating design. In Term 4, students explore Leadership and Management, Plumbing Installs for Multi-Storey and Private Dwellings, Gas Appliances Wiring Diagrams and Installation and Service up to 400 MBH, and Water Treatment and Specialty Equipment. This curriculum balances technical plumbing skills with leadership training and emerging technologies, preparing graduates to work confidently in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing sectors with expertise in installation, maintenance, and advanced gas appliance systems.
