COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced Carpentry Technology diploma program includes a comprehensive course lineup designed to build both foundational and advanced skills in carpentry and construction. In Term 1, students focus on Safety and Communication, Residential Site Preparation, Building Layout and Foundations, Introduction to Carpentry Tools, Building Materials, Floor Frame Systems, and Plans and Estimating. Term 2 deepens knowledge with courses on Residential Roof Framing, Wall Systems, Building Envelope, Residential Stairs, and Residential Estimating and Drawing Interpretation. Moving into Term 3, the focus shifts to Commercial Concrete Design, Concrete Formwork and Scaffold Systems, Commercial Building Interior Systems, Commercial Structures and Layout, and Commercial Drawings and Estimating. The final Term 4 emphasizes Interior Finishes, Building Structures and Design, Energy Efficient Building Practices, Advanced Stair Systems, and Leadership, Management and Teamwork skills. This curriculum blends theoretical learning with hands-on experience, equipping students with expertise in both residential and commercial construction.
