COURSE CURRICULUM

This program’s courses are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for advanced paramedic practice. In Term 1, students study Professional Practice and Legal Concepts, Patient History and Assessment, Pathophysiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Research in Healthcare, building a solid foundation in medical knowledge and professional standards. Term 2 focuses on Advanced Trauma Management, Pharmacology, Care of Specialized Populations, Obstetrics and Reproductive Care, and ECG Interpretation, preparing students for complex medical scenarios and patient care. Term 3 includes an Intermediate Practicum, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world settings. In Term 4, courses cover Health, Safety, and Wellness, Advanced Cardiac Care, Critical Care Integration, Advanced Medical Care, and Pediatric Care, further developing clinical expertise across diverse patient groups. The final Term 5 involves Hospital Rotations and an Advanced Ambulance Practicum, providing extensive hands-on experience, complemented by Interprofessional Healthcare Education to foster collaborative practice skills. Together, these courses ensure graduates are prepared to deliver high-quality advanced emergency care in varied and challenging healthcare environments.
