COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources Management concentration in NAIT’s Bachelor of Business Administration program offers a comprehensive and practical curriculum designed to develop essential HR skills and business knowledge. In Level 1, students build a foundation with courses such as Introductory Financial Accounting, Business Productivity Software, Communications, Micro and Macroeconomics, Fundamentals of Human Resources Management, Marketing, Business Math, Principles of Management, and Organizational Behaviour. Level 2 advances this foundation with courses in Managerial Accounting, Business Law, Business Analytics, Intrapreneurship and Innovation, and specialized HR topics including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Issues and Strategies, Labour Relations, Project Management, Strategic Management, and Business Statistics. Level 3 focuses on Employment Law, Applied Business Ethics, Corporate Finance, Performance Management, Leadership, and Occupational Health and Safety, with recommended electives covering areas such as Marketing, Indigenous Perspectives in Business, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Corporate Governance, and Advanced Strategic Management. In the final year, Level 4, students engage with advanced HR courses like Business Negotiations, Workplace Investigations, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, and Learning and Development, alongside Change Management and International Business, with electives including capstone projects, business planning, marketing for social change, and organizational theory. This well-rounded curriculum equips students with the strategic, legal, and ethical expertise to excel in diverse HR roles and prepares them for leadership positions in today’s dynamic business environment.
