COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education (MEd) program at Nipissing University offers three distinct options to complete the degree, each with specific course requirements. For the Thesis Option, students must complete EDUC 5196 Understanding Education (3 credits), EDUC 5157 Survey of Research Methods (3 credits), and a Master’s Thesis (EDUC 5454) worth 12 credits, along with an additional 12 credits of 5000-level EDUC courses. The Research Paper Option requires EDUC 5196 Understanding Education (3 credits), EDUC 5157 Survey of Research Methods (3 credits), and a Research Paper (EDUC 5115) worth 6 credits, plus 18 credits of 5000-level EDUC courses. For those choosing the Research Project and Seminar Option, students must complete EDUC 5196 Understanding Education (3 credits), EDUC 5157 Survey of Research Methods (3 credits), and a Research Project and Seminar (EDUC 5186) worth 3 credits, along with 21 credits of 5000-level EDUC courses. Each pathway provides flexibility and focuses on developing strong research skills tailored to the student’s interests and career goals.
