COURSE CURRICULUM

Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Health and Social Impact, students must complete 48 credits, including 36 credits of core courses and 12 credits of electives. The core courses cover essential topics such as Methods in Behavioural and Social Sciences, Health Psychology, Quantitative Research Methods, Poverty and Social Policy in Canada, Ethics in Practice, Geography of Health and Healthcare, Indigenous Health and Wellness, Politics and Healthcare, Social Determinants of Health, Health and the Family, Program Evaluation and Outcomes Management, and Health Care and Health Policy. These courses provide a comprehensive understanding of the social, political, ethical, and geographic factors influencing health and healthcare systems. Students then choose 12 credits from a wide range of electives, including Academic Writing, The Anthropocene: Environment & Globalization, Qualitative Research Methods, Medical Anthropology, Nutrition, Genetics & Society, Case Management in Health & Social Services, Practicum in Applied Research & Evaluation, Health Equity, Program and Policy Evaluation, Contagion, The Opioid Crisis, Urban Health, History of Nursing, Ethnobotany, Applied Health Statistics, Bio-Ethics, Health Healing and Religion, Sociology of Medicine and Nursing, Gerontology, Survey Research, Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis, Housing and Homelessness, Family Violence, and Addictions. This combination equips students with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to address complex health and social challenges in various professional settings.
