COURSE CURRICULUM

To graduate with a Bachelor of Science (Four Year) degree specializing in Data Science, students must meet both the program and university-wide degree requirements, including regulations on first-year courses, subject maximums, and breadth requirements. A minimum average of 60% is required in the 54 credits completed within the Data Science specialization. The program includes core courses such as Introduction to Computer Science, Programming in C++, Introduction to Data Science, and foundational mathematics courses like Calculus I and II, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics I. Advanced topics include Data Structures I and II, Artificial Neural Network Computing, Advanced Calculus, Probability and Statistics I, Artificial Intelligence, Databases and Data Management, and specialized Data Science courses like Machine Learning, Tools and Technologies in Data Science, and Data Analytics. Students must also complete six credits from other science courses such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, plus an additional six credits from related science disciplines, ensuring a well-rounded scientific foundation. Breadth requirements include courses in humanities, social sciences or professional studies, and electives, totaling 42 credits. This comprehensive curriculum equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in data science, preparing them to analyze and interpret complex data across various industries.
