COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at Nipissing University with a Finance Concentration provides students with a solid foundation in core business disciplines alongside specialized training in financial theory, markets, and tools. In addition to completing the standard BBA curriculum—which includes courses in accounting, economics, marketing, organizational behaviour, ethics, law, statistics, operations, strategy, and information systems—students in the Finance Concentration must complete 18 additional credits. These include FINC 2406 Principles of Finance with Excel, FINC 3117 Financial Management II, and FINC 3316 Investments, along with nine credits selected from a variety of advanced finance and economics electives such as ECON 2017 Money, Banking and the Canadian Financial System, ECON 3127 International Financial Management, FINC 2116 Management of Financial Institutions, FINC 3907 Insurance and Risk Management, FINC 4116 Fundamentals of Financial Derivatives, FINC 4706 Financial Portfolio and Wealth Management, FINC 4917 Entrepreneurial Finance, and MATH 3286 Mathematics of Finance. This concentration equips students with the quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills needed for careers in banking, investment, financial planning, corporate finance, and risk management. The program also includes six credits in humanities, science, or social science, additional business electives, and 45 general elective credits, allowing for flexibility and academic exploration.
