COURSE CURRICULUM

The Specialization in Psychology (BA) at Nipissing University is a four-year degree designed for students who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of human thought, emotion, and behaviour. To graduate, students must complete 120 credits, including 54 credits in Psychology, with a minimum 60% average in the specialization courses. Core requirements include foundational courses such as PSYC 1106 and PSYC 1107 (Introduction to Psychology I and II), PSYC 2126 and PSYC 2127 (Scientific Method and Analysis I and II), and PSYC 3116 (Literacy in Psychology), each requiring a minimum grade of 60%. In addition, students must complete 39 credits of Psychology courses at the 2000, 3000, or 4000 level, allowing for advanced study in areas such as cognitive, social, developmental, and clinical psychology. The program also includes breadth requirements: ACAD 1601 (Academic Writing), 3 credits in Humanities, 6 credits in Science, and 54 elective credits, offering students flexibility to explore other academic interests.
