COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education in Studies in Lifelong Learning at Mount Saint Vincent University is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research experience necessary to excel as educators and leaders in lifelong learning contexts. The program comprises 5.0 units of coursework, including a project, and can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility for working professionals. The required courses, totaling 3.0 units, include GSLL 6200, GSLL 6206, GSLL 6207, GSLL 6290, and GSLL 6299, which collectively focus on understanding learning processes across the lifespan, designing educational programs, employing effective teaching strategies, and engaging in research-based practice. In addition, students are required to complete 1.5 units of graduate-level GSLL or GEDU courses and 0.5 unit of a graduate-level elective, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific interests or career goals. The program emphasizes practical application through projects and experiential learning, enabling students to integrate theoretical concepts into real-world settings. Graduates of the program gain the knowledge and skills to design, implement, and evaluate educational initiatives in formal and non-formal contexts, making meaningful contributions to adult education, community learning, and workplace training.
