COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Tourism and Hospitality Management at MSVU requires students to complete 20.0 units, or 23.0 units for the co-operative education option, combining core business courses with specialized tourism and hospitality studies. Required courses include foundational business courses such as BUSI 1112, 2202, 2214, 2215, 2230, 2231, 2259, 2321, 3308, 3311 or 3312, 3320, 3360, 3361, 4400, and ECON 1101 and 1102. Mathematics requirements include MATH 2208 and 2209 or MATH 2500 plus a free elective. Tourism-specific courses include THMT 2202, 2225, 3306, 3401, 3402, and electives focusing on hospitality management, tourism marketing, event planning, sustainable tourism, and organizational management. Students must also complete 3.5 units of Arts and Science electives, 0.5 unit Humanities, and 2.5 units of free electives. Co-op students undertake up to three work terms to gain practical experience in tourism and hospitality organizations, integrating classroom knowledge with industry practice.
