COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration – General at Mount Saint Vincent University provides students with a comprehensive foundation in business while offering flexibility to explore specialized areas through minors. Graduates may complete one or more minors in accounting, finance, management, marketing, nonprofit leadership, tourism and hospitality management, strategic human resource management, or any other area approved by the department, with each minor requiring 3.0 units of coursework and a minimum GPA of 2.0 in those units. To successfully complete the program, students must earn 20.0 units, or 23.0 units if enrolled in the co-operative education option, and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 in 8.0 units of required business courses, noting that co-op work term courses cannot be counted in the GPA calculation. Required courses include BUSI 1112, 2202/THMT 2202, 2214, 2215, 2230, 2231, 2259, 2321, 3308, 3311 or 3312, 3320, 3360, 3361, 4400, ECON 1101, ECON 1102, and mathematics courses MATH 2208 and 2209 or MATH 2500 with a free elective. Additional requirements include 4.5 units of BUSI, THMT, or ECON electives, 3.5 units of Arts and Science electives, 0.5 unit Humanities, and 2.5 units of free electives, with departmental approval allowing limited substitutions to meet professional or accreditation requirements.
