COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in banking, investments, and financial services. Students must successfully complete 20.0 units, or 23.0 units if pursuing the co-operative education option, including foundational courses such as BUSI 1112, 2202/THMT 2202, 2214, 2215, 2230, 2231, 2259, 2321, 3308, 3311 or 3312, 3320, 3360, 3361, 4400, along with ECON 1101 and 1102. Mathematics requirements include MATH 2208 and 2209, or MATH 2500 with a placement test, plus 0.5 unit free elective. Students complete 4.5 units of BUSI, THMT, or ECON electives and 3.5 units of Arts and Science electives, with at least 2.0 units at the 2000 level or above. The Finance major focuses on ECON 1101 and 1102 plus 3.0 additional units of finance-focused ECON courses. Students also take 0.5 unit Humanities and 2.5 units of free electives, with departmental approval allowing limited substitutions for professional or accreditation requirements, ensuring a robust balance of theory and practical financial expertise.
