COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting requires students to successfully complete 20.0 units, or 23.0 units for those choosing the co-operative education option, encompassing a comprehensive mix of required courses, electives, and major-specific coursework. Core business courses include foundational subjects such as BUSI 1112, 2202 or THMT 2202, 2214, 2215, 2230, 2231, 2259, 2321, 3308, 3311 or 3312, 3320, 3360, 3361, and 4400, complemented by economics courses ECON 1101 and 1102, and mathematics courses MATH 2208 and 2209, or alternatively MATH 2500 plus a free elective. Students must also complete 4.5 units of BUSI, THMT, and/or ECON electives, 3.5 units of Arts and/or Science electives with at least 2.0 units at the 2000 level or above, 0.5 unit of Humanities, and 2.5 units of free electives, allowing flexibility for individualized learning. The accounting major requires 6.0 units of specialized coursework including BUSI 2321, 2322, 3320, 3325, 3326, and 3501, along with an additional 3.0 units selected from BUSI 1112, 3324, 3343, and 4400, with a minimum of 1.0 unit chosen from advanced accounting courses such as BUSI 4415, 4423, 4424, 4425, 4426, 4427, 4428, or 4465. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in required business courses, while co-operative education work terms do not count toward GPA calculation. This structure ensures a well-rounded education combining core business knowledge, accounting specialization, and professional readiness.
