COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Science in Biology, students must complete 20.0 units, including 8.0 to 10.0 units in the major. Required biology courses include BIOL 1152, 1153, 2240, 3312, 3374, one course from BIOL 2203, 2204, or 2207, and one from BIOL 3309, 3310, or 3322. Students must also complete 2.5 additional BIOL units at the 2000 level or higher and 1.0 at the 3000 level or above, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA in required BIOL courses. Supporting requirements include CHEM 1011, 1012, and 2401, and either MATH 1113, 2208, and 2209 or MATH 1113, 2500, and 3304. Students must complete a 3.0-unit minor in a science discipline such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Science Communication, Statistics, or Applied Human Nutrition, with at least a 2.0 GPA. They may also pursue a second 3.0-unit minor or up to 2.5 units of arts or science electives. Additionally, students must complete 1.0 unit from each of Core B (Social Sciences) and Core C (Humanities), as Core A is met by the Chemistry and Math requirements. At least 9.0 units must be at the 2000 level or above, and no more than 4.0 professional units count toward the degree.
