COURSE CURRICULUM

To earn a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies, students must complete 20.0 units, including a minimum of 8.0 and a maximum of 10.0 units in the major. Required courses include CULS 1101 and 2201, 2.0 units of CULS courses at the 2000 level or above, and 2.0 units at the 3000 level or above. Students must also complete 3.0 units selected from a broad range of related disciplines such as Canadian Studies, Communication, English, French, History, Philosophy, Political Studies, Religious Studies, Sociology/Anthropology, Women’s Studies, Writing, and others. Of the 8.0 major units, at least 3.0 must be at the 3000 level or higher, and a minimum GPA of 2.0 must be maintained in required courses. Students must also complete a 3.0-unit minor in another field, achieving a minimum GPA of 2.0, and may choose a second 3.0-unit minor in any available area. In addition, 1.0 unit must be completed from each Bachelor of Arts (General Studies) core group: Core A (Sciences & Mathematics), Core B (Social Sciences), and Core C (Humanities), exclusive of the major. At least 9.0 units of the total 20.0 must be at the 2000 level or higher, ensuring academic depth and interdisciplinary learning.
