COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Studies, students must complete 20.0 units, including 8.0 to 10.0 units in the major. Required courses include CANA 1102/POLS 1102, CANA 1121/HIST 1121 or CANA 1122/HIST 1122, CANA 2201/POLS 2201, CANA 2202/POLS 2202, CANA 3301/POLS 3301, and CANA 4401/POLS 4401. In addition, students must complete 2.0 units of Canadian Emphasis Courses at the 3000 level or above and 3.0 additional units of Canadian Emphasis Courses at any level, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the required 8.0 units of CANA courses. Beyond the major, students must complete a 3.0-unit minor in another discipline with at least a 2.0 GPA and may choose a second 3.0-unit minor in any available area. They are also required to complete 1.0 unit from each of the Bachelor of Arts (General Studies) core groups: Core A (Sciences & Mathematics), Core B (Social Sciences), and Core C (Humanities), exclusive of the major. Additionally, at least 9.0 units must be completed at the 2000 level or higher, ensuring students gain both depth and breadth in their academic studies across interdisciplinary fields related to Canada.
