ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), founded in 1873 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a public university known for its small class sizes and specialized programs. It offers over 40 undergraduate degrees in arts, sciences, education, and professional studies such as Business Administration, Applied Human Nutrition, Public Relations, and Tourism and Hospitality Management, along with 13 graduate programs and a doctorate in Educational Studies through partnerships with other universities. Originally established as a women’s college by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, MSVU became co-educational in 1967 and has a strong history of community involvement, including Caritas Day, a volunteer-focused holiday. The university features Canada Research Chairs and is the only Canadian institution to offer a Master of Public Relations program. MSVU emphasizes experiential learning with the longest-running co-op program in the Maritime Provinces and supports entrepreneurship through its Centre for Women in Business.
