COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a major in Aviation at Mount Allison University combines professional flight training with a rigorous academic program in the Faculty of Science, offering students a well-rounded education that integrates theory and practice. This interdisciplinary program allows students to study subjects directly relevant to aviation, including geography, environmental science, mathematics, physics, and computer science, while simultaneously completing comprehensive flight training. The degree requires the completion of 120 credits, including 78 credits for the Aviation major, of which 36 credits are dedicated to flight training requirements. In addition, students complete a 24-credit minor program, allowing them to specialize in a complementary field, and 18 credits of distribution requirements to ensure a broad-based undergraduate education. Flight training is conducted in partnership with MFC Training, one of North America’s leading flight schools, and provides students with hands-on experience in navigation, airplane instruments, aviation regulations, and weather, along with over 200 hours of flight time and extensive ground training. Graduates leave the program not only with a BSc degree but also with professional qualifications including a Commercial Pilot Licence, a multi-engine class rating, and a Group 1 instrument rating, equipping them for careers in aviation or further professional and academic pursuits.
