COURSE CURRICULUM

The Major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) is a 66-credit multidisciplinary program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human society from ethical, political, and economic perspectives. The Philosophy component requires 24 credits, beginning with 3 credits from introductory courses such as PHIL 1601, 1611, 1621, or 1651, followed by 6 credits from intermediate courses like PHIL 2611 or 2701, and 6 credits from core courses including PHIL 3000, 3011, 3101, 3221, 3231, 3240, 3250, 3301, 3311, 3351, and 3891. Students then complete 6 credits from advanced or specialized courses such as PHIL 3631, 3711, 3721, 3731, 3741, or 4000-level courses, and 3 additional credits at the 4000 level. The Politics component comprises 21 credits, beginning with 3 credits from POLS 1001, 6 credits from intermediate courses like POLS 2001, 2101, 2211, 2221, or 2301, 6 credits from advanced courses including POLS 3001, 3011, 3031, 4000, or 4011, and 6 credits from specialized 3000/4000 series such as POLS 31/41, 32/42, or 33/43. The Economics component also totals 21 credits, including 9 credits from ECON 1001, 1011, or 2701, 3 credits from ECON 1701 or MATH 2311, 6 credits from 3000/4000-level Economics courses, and 3 credits from senior-level courses like ECON 4001, 4011, 4501, or 4521. This integrated structure equips students with analytical, ethical, and practical skills across all three disciplines.
