COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Technology diploma program provides students with foundational and advanced training in technical support, networking, and system administration. In the first year, all students follow a common core curriculum designed to build essential IT skills. This includes courses such as Professional Communications I (ITEC 100), A+ Computer Technology I and II (ITEC 110 and 130), Applied Mathematics (ITEC 120), Programming Fundamentals I and II (ITEC 140 and 145), Application Software (ITEC 150), IT Systems Support (ITEC 155), Networking Fundamentals (ITEC 170), and Web Development I (ITEC 190). These courses develop competencies in hardware and software, basic programming, system troubleshooting, and foundational networking. In the second year, students in the Network and Systems Administration major focus on more specialized topics. Semester 3 includes Emerging Technologies I (ITEC 230), Applied Technical Support I (ITEC 260), Enterprise Networking (NETW 200), Microsoft Server Technologies (NETW 220), and Network Administration (NETW 290), equipping students with hands-on experience in server environments, enterprise-level networking, and support services. Semester 4 continues with Web Server Administration (ITEC 240), Applied Technical Support II (ITEC 265), Business and Accounting Principles (ITEC 281), Security (ITEC 285), and Advanced Microsoft Server Technologies (NETW 222). These courses emphasize the secure and efficient management of network infrastructure, providing students with the ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex IT systems. The integration of technical support, security, and server technologies prepares graduates to pursue roles such as systems administrator, network technician, IT support specialist, and more. The program is designed to adapt to the dynamic needs of the IT industry and supports students in developing the practical and professional skills required for immediate employment in a wide range of technical environments.
