ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Medicine Hat College, established in 1965, is a public community college located in Medicine Hat, Alberta, serving southeastern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan. The college enrolls approximately 2,500 students at its main campus and around 200 at its Brooks Campus. MHC offers over 40 diploma and certificate programs, 25 university transfer pathways, trades apprenticeships, and applied degrees in fields such as Visual Communications and Paramedicine. Collaborative agreements with institutions like the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and Athabasca University enable students to complete degrees in nursing, education, business, and criminal justice. The college supports students with wellness services, counseling, academic specialists, and business development through its Entrepreneur Development Centre. It has two libraries, including the Vera Bracken Library, housing extensive print and digital collections. MHC’s athletic teams, the Rattlers, compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference in sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, hockey, and more.
