COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources Management diploma requires the completion of 60 credits, typically spread across 20 courses, providing a comprehensive foundation in HR and business practices. Core courses introduce students to accounting, microeconomics, sustainable business, management, and quantitative decision-making, ensuring a strong understanding of organizational operations and business fundamentals. Communication skills are emphasized through courses such as analysis and argument, first-year writing, and advanced business writing. Specialized human resources courses cover management of human resources, employee relations, recruitment and selection, and total compensation management, preparing students to handle a variety of workforce challenges. Organizational studies are integrated through courses in management, contemporary organizational behaviour and theory, managing change, managerial skill development, and negotiation, equipping students with leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills essential for effective HR practice. Technical competencies are addressed through business statistics and business computing, while flexibility is maintained with options to select two 300-level HR courses and an open elective, allowing students to tailor their learning to specific interests or career goals.
