COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management diploma with a specialization in Aviation Management requires students to complete a total of 60 credits, combining core business courses with Transport Canada-approved aviation credentials. The curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation in essential business disciplines, including accounting, with courses such as Introductory Accounting and Managerial Information and Control Systems; finance, including Introductory Finance; marketing through Fundamentals of Marketing; and law via Business Law I. Students also develop analytical and quantitative skills in courses such as Introduction to Business Statistics, Introduction to Quantitative Decision-Making, and Business Computing, while gaining insights into sustainable business practices and research methods through Introduction to Sustainable Business and Research Methods for Business. Organizational and management competencies are addressed through Introduction to Management, Contemporary Organizational Behaviour and Theory, Managing Negotiation, and Airport Management and Operations, complemented by supply chain knowledge in Introduction to Global Supply Chain Management and human resources expertise through Management of Human Resources. In addition to these business-focused courses, students must present Transport Canada-approved aviation credentials to earn six credits toward the diploma, choosing from Private Pilot’s License, Commercial Pilot’s License, Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Rating, or Instructor Rating. This combination of business education and specialized aviation training equips graduates with both the managerial acumen and aviation-specific knowledge required to excel in business aviation, airport operations, and related sectors.
