COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology Honours program offers a comprehensive and research-intensive study of human behaviour and mental processes through a 120-credit curriculum emphasizing scientific methodology and data-driven analysis. Core requirements include Introductory Psychology I and II (PSYC 104 and 105), Introduction to and Advanced Research Methods (PSYC 212 and 312), Applied Statistics II (STAT 252), History of Psychology (PSYC 301), and the Psychology Senior Seminar (PSYC 400). Students also complete a two-part Honours Thesis (PSYC 499A and 499B), conducting original research under faculty supervision. Additionally, 15 credits are chosen from key subfields—developmental, personality, social, cognitive, perception, brain and behaviour, and behavioural psychology—providing a strong disciplinary foundation. Beyond these, students complete 21 senior-level credits from PSYC or PABA courses, 15 credits from outside the discipline, and 6 flexible credits, all selected in consultation with a psychology Honours advisor. The remaining 13 option credits may be drawn from Arts, Science, or up to 18 credits outside the faculty, offering room for academic exploration. This rigorous program develops advanced analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, preparing graduates for graduate studies or professional careers in psychology, neuroscience, health sciences, education, or research-based fields requiring strong quantitative and empirical expertise.
