COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology Major provides a scientific and research-oriented approach to understanding human thought, behaviour, and mental processes within a 120-credit framework. Core requirements include Introductory Psychology I and II (PSYC 104 and 105) and Introduction to Research Methods in Psychology (PSYC 212), which establish a foundation in psychological principles and scientific methodology. Students also complete 15 credits from key psychology subfields such as developmental, personality, social, cognitive, behavioural, perceptual, and biological psychology, gaining a broad understanding of the discipline’s major areas. Beyond these, students select 18 to 36 credits from senior-level Psychology (PSYC) or Psychology and Behavioural Analysis (PABA) courses, enabling in-depth study and specialization under faculty guidance. The program allows flexibility through the option to pursue a second major or one or two minors in either Science or Arts (18–60 credits), complemented by 10–60 elective credits, including up to 18 from outside the faculty. Emphasizing empirical research, data analysis, and critical thinking, the BSc Psychology Major integrates behavioural science with biological and quantitative perspectives. Graduates develop strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in health sciences, research, education, technology, or further study in psychology, neuroscience, or related professional fields.
