COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Honours program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to deepen your accounting knowledge and develop advanced research skills. Core courses include Intermediate Financial Accounting I and II, Intermediate Management Accounting, Income Tax Fundamentals, and Auditing, providing a solid foundation in key accounting principles. Students must choose 12 credits from a range of specialized options such as Introduction to Data Analytics in Accounting, Government and Not-for-Profit Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Financial Accounting Theory, Advanced Management Accounting, Advanced Corporate Taxation, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics Applied to Accounting, Integrated Case Studies, Special Topics, and Independent Studies in Accounting. To earn the Honours designation, students complete advanced research courses—Advanced Quantitative Research Methods for Business and Advanced Qualitative Research Methods for Management—along with a Senior Honours Seminar and an Honours Thesis in Accounting. Additionally, students select one senior-level 400-level course approved by a faculty advisor. The program requires 15 credits of non-business electives and 6 credits of open electives, bringing the total to 63 credits. This structure ensures students gain both breadth and depth in accounting, critical research expertise, and interdisciplinary knowledge, preparing graduates for advanced studies or leadership roles in accounting and related fields.
