COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Honours program offers a rigorous and research-focused academic pathway designed for students seeking an in-depth understanding of psychological science and advanced research training. The 120-credit program includes core courses such as Introductory Psychology I and II (PSYC 104 and 105), Introduction to and Advanced Research Methods (PSYC 212 and 312), Applied Statistics II (STAT 252), History of Psychology (PSYC 301), and the Psychology Senior Seminar (PSYC 400). A major component of the Honours program is the completion of an independent research project through Honours Thesis I and II (PSYC 499A and 499B) under faculty supervision. Students also select 15 credits from key psychology subfields such as developmental, social, cognitive, personality, brain and behaviour, perception, and behavioural principles, ensuring a broad understanding of psychological processes. Additionally, students complete 21 approved Honours option credits from senior-level PSYC or PABA courses, 15 credits from courses outside psychology, and 6 flexible credits chosen with advisor approval. The remaining 13 credits consist of open options from Arts, Science, or other faculties. This program cultivates strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, preparing graduates for advanced study in psychology, research, counselling, education, or related professional fields.
