COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Major provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, mental processes, and scientific research methods within a flexible 120-credit program. Core requirements include Introductory Psychology I and II (PSYC 104 and 105) and Introduction to Research Methods in Psychology (PSYC 212), establishing a solid foundation in psychological theory and empirical inquiry. Students then complete 15 credits from key subfields—such as developmental, personality, social, cognitive, and behavioural psychology, as well as brain and behaviour and perception—to gain breadth across major areas of psychological study. Beyond these core courses, students choose 18 to 36 senior-level credits in Psychology (PSYC) or Psychology and Behavioural Analysis (PABA), allowing for focused exploration of specialized interests in consultation with academic advisors. The program also offers flexibility through optional secondary majors or minors (18–60 credits) in Arts or Science disciplines and 10–60 elective credits, which may include up to 18 credits outside the faculty. This structure encourages interdisciplinary learning and personal academic customization. Graduates develop strong analytical, research, and communication skills, preparing them for diverse career paths in human services, business, education, health, or for advanced studies in psychology and related professional fields.
