COURSE CURRICULUM

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for a career in cybersecurity through four semesters of focused study and practical experience. In the first semester, students build foundational skills in business communication, computer programming, networking, information security, and cybersecurity principles tailored to the Canadian context. Courses such as Computer Network Design and Implementation and Introduction to Networking and Data Communication provide essential technical knowledge, while Business Communications in Canada develops professional communication skills. The second semester advances technical expertise with specialized courses in cloud security, cryptography, operating system security, wireless communication, and web security. Students also engage in career preparation through a co-op readiness course focused on job search strategies within the Canadian industry. The third semester introduces cutting-edge topics including artificial intelligence applications in cybersecurity, cybercrime law, digital forensics, incident response, ethical hacking, penetration testing, and secure network infrastructure management. This semester also includes further co-op preparation to enhance employment readiness. In the final semester, students participate in a cyber-security co-op, applying their accumulated skills in a real-world Canadian work environment, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. This practical placement consolidates learning and fosters professional growth. Throughout the program, students gain a balance of theoretical knowledge and applied skills, positioning them to effectively address contemporary cybersecurity challenges.
