COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma in Professional Recording Arts at LaSalle College Vancouver spans four quarters, offering a comprehensive curriculum designed to build both foundational and advanced skills in audio production. In the first quarter, students study Audio Electronics, Fundamentals of Audio, Digital Music Technology, Digital Audio I, and Music Theory, establishing a strong technical and theoretical base. The second quarter focuses on Acoustics and Psychoacoustics, Audio Recording I, Digital Music Creation, Digital Audio II, and Game Audio I, enhancing students’ practical skills in recording and sound design within various media contexts. Quarter three introduces Multichannel Immersive Audio, Audio Recording Techniques I, Live Sound Reinforcement, Digital Audio III, and Game Audio II, providing experience with advanced audio techniques and live sound environments. The final quarter concentrates on Advanced Mastering Techniques, Audio Recording Techniques II, Synthesis and Sound Design, Advanced Post Production Audio, and Professional Development and Portfolio, preparing students for professional practice and career readiness. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, learning to produce high-quality audio projects for music, games, and multimedia.
