COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graphic Design and Foundation for Design program at LaSalle College Vancouver is structured across four quarters, providing a comprehensive curriculum that builds both foundational and advanced skills in design. In the first quarter, students focus on core principles such as drawing, design and colour theory, digital imaging, concept development, and fundamentals of user-centred design. This foundation supports their understanding of visual communication and creativity. The second quarter deepens their expertise with courses in typography, digital illustration, advanced digital imaging, history and analysis of design, and sustainable design principles, encouraging ethical and responsible design practices. Moving into the third quarter, students explore applied design topics including advertising, electronic design, production procedures, corporate identity, and web development, equipping them with practical skills needed for the industry. The final quarter emphasizes studio work and professional development through design studio, UX/UI design, computer animation for multimedia, professional practices, and portfolio preparation. This comprehensive course lineup ensures students graduate with a well-rounded skill set and a professional portfolio that showcases their creativity and technical abilities.
