COURSE CURRICULUM

The program’s curriculum spans four quarters, offering a comprehensive foundation in digital film and media production. In the first quarter, students begin with Introduction to Digital Film Editing and Introduction to Video Production, learning essential technical skills. They also study Visual Storytelling and Concept Development and Screenwriting to develop their narrative and creative abilities, complemented by History of the Image in Media, which provides critical context on visual culture. The second quarter builds on these foundations with Advanced Editing and Cinematography, enhancing technical proficiency and artistic vision. Introduction to Production Planning teaches the logistics of managing projects, while Directing and Audio for Media focus on leadership and sound design skills. Quarter three delves deeper into Colour Theory and Media Management to understand visual aesthetics and project organization. Motion Graphics and Compositing introduces digital effects and animation techniques. Advanced Cinematography further refines camera skills, while Documentary Film Making and Screenwriting allow students to explore real-world storytelling and scriptwriting. The final quarter emphasizes professional readiness with courses such as Professional Communication in Media, teaching students to effectively navigate industry environments. Short Form Media and Film Lab provide practical experience in creating concise, impactful content, culminating in the Short Film Production course where students apply all their skills to produce a final project. Together, these courses prepare students for versatile roles in film and media production, blending creative, technical, and professional training.
