ABOUT UNIVERSITY

LaSalle College Vancouver, formerly known as The Art Institute of Vancouver, is a private post-secondary arts and design institution located in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is part of the LCI Education network, which includes 23 campuses worldwide, such as LaSalle College Montreal, LCI Barcelona, LCI Melbourne, and LCI Bogota. The school offers a range of diploma, certificate, and degree programs in areas such as game design and visual effects, graphic design, culinary arts, interior design, fashion, audio and film, e-learning, and an Associate of Arts degree. The college is a registered post-secondary institution and is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education of British Columbia. Originally founded in 1979 in Burnaby as the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound (CDIS), the institution expanded over time, and its culinary division, known as the International Culinary School, was founded in 1982 under the name Dubrulle International Culinary & Hotel Institute of Canada. In 2010, all programs were moved to a new 80,000 square foot campus in Vancouver’s Renfrew area. In 2017, the school was acquired by LCI Education from Education Management Corporation and rebranded as LaSalle College Vancouver. It now offers a broad selection of creative and technical programs, including animation, baking and pastry arts, culinary arts, music production, digital film and video, event management, game art and design, game programming, recording arts, and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. With more than 600 undergraduate students, the college focuses on hands-on learning and industry relevance in its curriculum.
