COURSE CURRICULUM

LaSalle College Montréal’s Fashion Design DCS program offers a comprehensive and progressive curriculum designed to equip students with the technical skills and creative expertise needed to excel in the fashion industry. The program begins with foundational courses such as Composition of Simple Garments, Assembling Principles, Graphic Process Application, and Study of Raw Materials, ensuring students develop essential garment construction skills and an understanding of design fundamentals. As the semesters progress, students dive deeper into complex techniques with courses like Composition of Elaborated Garments, Garment Construction and Computer applications, and Fashion Product Development, fostering their ability to create intricate and market-ready designs. Alongside technical training, courses such as Fashion Concepts, Fashion and Society, and Trend Analysis cultivate an understanding of the cultural and societal influences shaping fashion trends. Later semesters focus on preparing students for professional practice through Collection Production, Garment Evaluation, and Buying and Selling of Products and Services. The program also includes a specialization option in the final semester, allowing students to tailor their studies toward Footwear and Accessories. Throughout the program, students also benefit from General Education courses, including Physical Education, Humanities, Language and Literature, Second Language, and Complementary courses, which broaden their cultural knowledge and communication skills, ensuring graduates are well-rounded professionals.
