COURSE CURRICULUM

The Arts, Literature and Communication – Option in Media DCS program at LaSalle College Montréal offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop students’ critical and creative skills in media production and cultural analysis. The concentration courses cover a wide range of topics, including Research Methods in Culture and Media, Aesthetic and Cultural Foundations of the Western World, and Media History, providing a solid theoretical foundation. Practical workshops like Introduction to Media Production, Conceptualization and Media Workshops I and II, and Media and Technologies I and II equip students with hands-on experience in creating and managing media projects. Courses such as Critical Approaches, Refusal, Protest and Transformations, and Current Issues in Culture and Media foster analytical thinking and encourage engagement with contemporary cultural debates. The program culminates with an Integration Project in Culture and Media, allowing students to synthesize their learning in a comprehensive creative endeavor. Additionally, Media and Art Scenes explores the intersection of media with artistic communities, enriching students’ cultural literacy. Alongside these specialized courses, the program includes essential general education courses that ensure well-rounded development. These consist of Physical Education (90 hours), Philosophy (150 hours), Language and Literature (240 hours), Second Language (90 hours), and Complementary courses (90 hours).
