COURSE CURRICULUM

The Arts, Literature and Communication – Option in Arts DCS program at LaSalle College Montréal includes a comprehensive range of concentration courses designed to develop students' artistic skills and critical understanding. These courses cover essential topics such as Research Methods in Arts and Design, Aesthetic and Cultural Foundations of the Western World, and Exploring Creative Techniques in Arts and Design, providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation. Students study 20th Century Arts and Design, engage in hands-on Studio I and II sessions, and explore the relationship between art and technology through Art and Technologies I and II. Critical Approaches and courses like Refusal, Protest and Transformations encourage students to analyze and critique art from various perspectives. Planning an Artistic Event and Media and Art Scenes introduce practical skills in event management and contemporary art contexts, culminating in an Integration Project that synthesizes learning across disciplines. Alongside these specialized courses, students complete general education requirements emphasizing cultural knowledge, skill development, responsible citizenship, and shared cultural heritage. This includes physical education, philosophy, language and literature, second language, and complementary courses, ensuring graduates have a well-rounded skill set valued in the workplace.
