COURSE CURRICULUM

The Food, Nutrition, and Health Transfer Diploma requires a total of 69 credits, encompassing a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a strong foundation in biological sciences, chemistry, nutrition, statistics, and mathematics essential for advanced studies in dietetics and health sciences. Core courses include General Biology I and II, Health Science I and II focusing on human anatomy and physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Cell Biology, providing in-depth knowledge of the human body and its functions. Chemistry courses cover General Chemistry I and II, and Organic Chemistry I and II, equipping students with essential chemical principles related to nutrition and health. Nutrition courses Nutrition I and II build understanding of nutrient functions and dietary needs. The program also incorporates statistical courses like Descriptive and Elementary Inferential Statistics and Intermediate Statistical Inference to develop skills in data analysis. Mathematics requirements include various options for Calculus I and II, some with computer explorations or applications tailored to life sciences, economics, or business, ensuring quantitative proficiency. Electives allow students to explore social sciences through courses in Cultural Anthropology, Psychology, or Sociology, fostering a broader understanding of human behavior and society. English composition and literature courses are also part of the curriculum to enhance academic writing and communication skills.
